back-posting.

back-posting. can't say for sure but i may have made that name up. and as annoyed as i am that i haven't posted in f.o.r.e.v.e.r......i'm equally annoyed that blogger has chosen to underline this entire post. so, i'll make it short. here's what we do on saturday evenings. we watch home videos. and i couldn't think of a better way to spend my saturday evening than with these 3 lovelies.

{i'll play more catch up when i don't have to see everything underlined. it's driving me crazy!!}

what could have been......

.....a glorious view outside my window was spent worrying so. but, i put my big girl pants on, and flew to vegas. and i flew back. made it there and back in one piece. rest assured however, it was not easy. especially since the fam came with me to the airport, at my request and all, but perhaps not my best idea. none the less, i boarded flight 3120 and headed west into the friendly skies vegas bound. shed a few tears, perhaps a few too many, enjoyed a delicious miller lite courtesy of the southwest flight attendant that i am certain thought i was c.r.a.z.y. and had myself a grand old time in las vegas.

however, no part of my trip came close to getting back to these littles patiently waiting for me at home. home. sweet. home.

welcome pretty green dresses with swirly skirts. welcome sparkly gold shoes like gramsie's. welcome pretty blue sunsets. welcome late night swinging. welcome love.

wheat thins. by ainsley.

what? you don't know the proper way to eat wheat thins?

no-wah {noah in ainsley speak}- can you believe it? i think i will show them......

first, one must stack thins accordingly. live on the edge, stack a lot.

second, and this part is most important, one places fingers strategically throughout said stack of wheat thins to maintain proper control for next step......

third, open mouth really wide and bite down. if you must move your fingers around to maintain stack, that is fine......

be not afraid of the crumbs, you can eat those later.

lastly, check with big brother to ensure all steps were covered......maintaining said grip on said wheat thins, of course.

the most funner day edder.

per noah that is. we hit up day out with thomas today. for free. we went back and forth this year on whether to buy tickets or not, and decided not to. it's a little spendy, and the kiddos seemed to have more fun last year doing all the "free" stuff. and judging by noah's reaction when the train pulled up to the station- i think it was a good choice. he is so not my adventurous one. but, we did have plenty of fun in the imagination station {read here- the place where hundreds of thomas loving kiddos are supposed to share roughly 10 trains and be happy about it}. next year we're bringing our own. ri.dic.u.lous. noah did pretty well, present situation taken into consideration that is.

here's that excited reaction that i mentioned previously. that's right- not a fan.

miss adventurous here however might have scaled the metal rails had i let her.

we waited in lines.......

learned how to spell thomas from noah's shirt.......

did some coloring and crayon stealing {i found 2 in her pockets when we got into the car}......oops

and i took pictures on the way home of this sweet pea while he "took pictures" of me {with his view-finder}.

yes. it was the most funner {hotter-than-heck} day edder.

just plain random.

these are all totally random. but, since i will print this out for them, that's ok.

ains- you're not a fan of "outside noises".....any of them. it started this spring, which is when i think you first recognized the 'noise' of thunder. and you're not.a.fan. noah on the other hand loves it. you- not.at.all. it sends you crying and sad-faced in the sweetest way straight to my legs with arms up and your sweet voice saying 'up me, up me'. i {secretly} heart that. there was a truck outside that was kinda loud, similar to thunder, and here you are investigating.....

and sweet little toes that are mine for awhile. i love baby toes, but i equally love the toes of my own {bigger} babies......

last day.

mom's day out. what a GREAT concept. we heart mom's day out- especially at noah's ark. best teachers, best fun. and miss ains gets to start next year. which, ultimately for me means every 3rd week on my sunday off i get 4.5 hours TO MYSELF!!! i'm not sure what i will do.....actually i can think of a million things, but- i digress, that's not the purpose of this post. the last day at noah's ark means a fun bike parade. we got a little extra excited about "decorating" our bike this year....noah and nana took a trip to the store to score some fun decor for 'the hot wheel'. and here's the proud little last dayer here. a job well done. who knew pipe cleaners could offer such fun. and the bike horn that they selected- i'm sure his teacher miss sandy was real appreciative of it......

and not to miss out on said party is ains on 'the pink panther'

fall, spring and summer means walking to 'school' with daddy. they LOVE this- and even better since they got to ride to school.

{and by ride i meant ainsley was pushed on her bike, and noah was pulled.....}

mom's day 2010.

"what day is 'kid's day' mommy?" is what i heard all.day on mother's day this year. my noah, wondering when we could celebrate 'kid's day'.....ummmm, i'm pretty certain {make that absolutely certain} that we do all sorts of kid-loving activities almost every day. so, we reviewed all the things we do together during the week, and he has since decided that "every day except one day" is 'kid's day'. very good my friend. and i assume we'll re-visit this very conversation when we celebrate daddies in about a month.

this might have been a pretty good picture. except my ROOKIE MISTAKE. nice tree branch directly in front of noah's face. seriously. of course i saw it, and once we moved it, ains was having no more pictures in the tree. so, here is what we've got.

here's why we wear things with pockets. don't you carry your drinks around in your pockets? i'm sure i would if my cups also had spill proof lids.....

again, my sweet ains not in the mood for pictures. shocker. this girl has got a mind of her own.....and is not shy about letting you know what is on said independent mind.

we plant flowers at nana's house every year on mother's day. i've lobbied several times to try to get this little shin-dig moved to our casa, but no takers yet. maybe next year.

pink jelly bean fun

this little gal got to hang out with some other little gals for some fashion fun. miss presley's mom has taken up this sweet little sewing hobby, and so we spent an afternoon having fun playing dress up and tea party. sassy pants here did fine, as long as the pics were taken from afar. she was feeling no love for the camera when asked- and exhibited her sassiness. which is exactly what i expected. none the less, we had a great time at our forest tea party with our friends.

bunnies.

ever since meeting hazel this easter, these two are o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d. with bunnies. nana and papa's back yard has had a plethora of bunnies this spring which has worked out nicely for us. and if they aren't in nana and papa's yard, then they are sure to be in the neighbor's yard. there was mention of "keeping one to snuggle with" by noah, however, that is more than definitely not going to happen anytime soon. or maybe ever. we'll settle for watching them run and play, and perhaps sometime again we can snuggle someone else's pet bunny.

chatterbox.

noah has a new favorite way to keep in touch. and when you talk to him you can expect to hear about all things going on RigHt NOW.......including {but not limited to} what he's wearing-- and don't be surprised if he if gets upset that you can't SEE the spot on his shirt, what he's going to do next and he'll likely ask you what kind of snacks you have at your house. he's definitely going to need to know if you have trains, and if so, which ones might you have and do they have tenders. if you don't know about this, no worries, my little train lover can school you. i'm guessing he will ask you when can he come to your house, and when he's there, can he have chicken, please? he'll wrap it up pretty abruptly, usually tossing the phone my way, running away shouting "bye bye, lub you......"

so, considering this little chatterbox didn't talk until way after his 2nd birthday, i'd say we've made up for lost time. without a doubt.

princess for a day.

even with the mess on her face thanks to that awesome sidewalk incident, ains still looked pretty sweet in her princess attire. auntie lisa invited us to see the play and get a crown with lots of other princesses. it was a fun morning and she even managed to sit through the whole play. slept through the first act, woke up in time to cruise the stage to get her crown, and then enjoyed some popcorn through the second act.

not such a fan of the crowning process, and wanted nothing to do with it at the beginning.

and ironically after she had the crown, she proceeded to march across the stage all by her self- not once, but twice! go figure!

with cinderella {jr.} who was in auntie lisa's class last year.

and cinderella {sr.} rachel, who we know too! ains though, apparently does not recognize her.
